Pregnancy Care Centre

This centre opened its doors in April 2003. Seven of Nicosia's pastors came to pray for the work and dedicate the PCC to the purposes of God. The PCC's ministry focuses on meeting young women at a low point in their lives and providing emotional, practical and spiritual support. We offer free pregnancy tests, confidential crisis counseling (incl. post-abortion counseling), gynecological advice, befriending and practical help, like baby clothes and equipment etc.

The Lord led us to the Old City of Nicosia where we had been doing prayerwalking since the previous autumn. We had established a pregnancy centre in St. Petersburg in 1997 and knew the importance of this kind of mercy ministry. Some call it pro-life, because the work really is about saving lives, both spiritually and physically. Our Nicosia staff are volunteers from the local churches, ordinary Christians who have a heart for people. We are not professional counsellors, although we do train and supervise our workers. We can refer women to the appropriate professionals and doctors, if needed.

In our PCC we want to create a place for the visiting ladies to share their burdens and be listened to. So, a willingness to serve and listen is required, if you want to help in this ministry. We are always looking for more staff, so contact us if you are interested. The languages needed for this work are English, Russian or Greek. Basically almost everyone here knows English.

The Nicosia PCC is the first one in Cyprus, but we believe that this is the beginning of a movement, which will serve the society offering biblical alternatives in crisis pregnancy situations or post-abortion trauma.
