Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) aim to prepare messengers of the gospel, helping students to know God in depth. The goal is to form Christian character and establish Biblical relationships while developing a daily walk with God. This intensive Christian training course begins with a 12 week classroom phase followed by an 8 week outreach.
The DTS is designed to encourage students in personal character development, cultivating their relationship with God and identifying their unique individual gifts and callings. Cross-cultural exposure and global awareness are special emphases throughout the course, preparing the students to evangelize and disciple current and future generations, answering the call to "Go into all the world and teach (make disciples of) all nations." (Matthew 28:19).
Not everyone completing a DTS necessarily joins YWAM. Many participate in a DTS to take time out to grow in their relationship to God and consider whether He is calling them to Christian ministry. For those who continue to serve with YWAM, successful completion of the DTS qualifies them to apply for hundreds of staff opportunities. The DTS is the entry-level class into YWAM's University of the Nations. Upon completion, students receive 24 semester hours of credit and may continue on to any of the seven colleges within the U of N.
This October we will GATHER from many nations, for a single purpose...to pursue God, His presence, His ways, and to TAKE HIM to those who need Him most.
YOUR INTIMACY with God CAN CHANGE HISTORY. As we draw near to Him, we gain everything we need for a lost, broken, and hurting world.
Come and join with us. BELIEVE that God has more for you than you have ever dreamed. BELONG to a community of hungry people, just like you, pursuing the living God. BE TRAINED to share the love of God with those who need Him most. BE CHANGED to settle for nothing less than everything that God has for you.
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
Psalm 27:4
On the daily schedule during the 3 month lecture phase there is time for personal devotion (“quiet time” with God), lectures, individual mentoring, small groups, intercession and praise and worship. There are also work duties and community life that also gives use many ways to grow in our Christian life. A lot is happening during the school and you will find that you're being changed and you are growing in all aspects of your life.
God will stretch you and your faith in many ways! During the lecture phase we will have both local and international speakers coming each week, to teach on the subjects from the curriculum.
The curriculum will cover following six major categories:
(You can find more details at the www.ywamdtscentre.com )
How can we make Him known with out knowing Him ourself? A good relationship with God is often hindered by a wrong impression of who He is. Our goal is that you will encounter God and fall in love with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Gaining a deeper understanding of who He is and about His gifts.
Intimacy relationship with Jesus
Fear of the Lord
Father Heart Of God
The Holy Spirit and the Gift of the spirit
When we grow up, our family, culture and the fallen world influence us, and how we look at life. We need a reprogramming to see all of life from God's perspective. To do this we need to learn to hear Gods voice, we need to be rooted in His word and believe Him .
Hearing the voice of God
Word of God
Kingdom of God
A clear understanding of what Jesus has done for us is the foundation for our life and ministry. Recognizing Jesus as Lord
Sin, Repentance & Restitution
Foundation Of Belief
God created us to live in pure, loving relationships: first with Him, then with our parents, family, the opposite sex and our authorities. “ God loves us the way we are, but He refuses to leave us that way. He wants us to be just like Jesus! ” (Max Lucado, ‘Just like Jesus').

During the outreach phase, you will travel to another culture for a 2-month practice period. We intercede for the people and places we are visiting seek God's guidance for ministry and we spread the good news as He leads us. This is the time to put to practice all what we have learned in the lecture phase.
The outreach phase gives you an opportunity to grow spiritually through the many challenges that you will face. It also gives you a foretaste of what missionary life is all about and often impacts you even more than the lecture phase do.
It is not decided where we will go on outreach. Our desire is to go where God want us to ministry, because that will be the best place for all of us to be. We will together with you seek the Lord for where He wants us to go.

Youth With A Mission began to send teams to Cyprus at the beginning of the 70's after Corry Ten Boom had a word from the Lord about Cyprus for Loren Cunningham the leader of YWAM at the time. YWAM was officially registered as a company in Cyprus in 1977 and served as a Missions base to the Middle East for many years. Hundreds of people went through training at the base in a village called Skouriotissa, and many of them went on to serve God in the Middle East. In the 80's YWAM went through a period of change and transition, many of the staff focusing on the Middle East left Cyprus for other locations and the activity moved from the village to the capital city of Nicosia. God then spoke to YWAM of giving them their own property one day in Cyprus. At the end of the 80's and 90's there was more of a focus on Cyprus with evangelism, education and mercy ministries. During this period some of the staff had a desire to start a prayer team, and eventually to have a house or place dedicated to Intercessory prayer. God pruned the number of the staff down even further to only a few. This was a necessary part of God's process for us as he was preparing the way for a new season of growth!
God was not silent during that time but spoke to YWAM from the scripture Isaiah 43:18-19 “See I am doing a new thing”. In 2001 we started the first DTS in 10 years. Again God started to speak to us about an area called Pervolia near Larnaca. We had the understanding God wanted us to have a community of believers here. We started to prayer walk the area and we received the scripture from Joshua 1:3 “ I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. “ When we were praying, the whole concept of God having a place that could be used for His glory and where people would serve in worship and intercession started to unfold.
A place that would be entirely HIS in order to experience intimacy with the King.
In 2002 we moved to this area and we continued the Arabic/ English DTS in Larnaca. During this period it became very clear that our service needed to come out of our intimacy with the Lord. We had some amazing encounters with God and he spoke to us about having a place for Him “A House of Prayer”. We had pictures of young people coming and ministering to the heart of the Father. And people being refreshed sent out to the nations. The spring of 2004 the national leader heard an inward audible voice about a specific area for this house. In the autumn 2005 our main focus was to draw closer to God, and out of that time of seeking him we identified a piece of land in the right area. There were a number of very dynamic encounters with God there. In November we felt led to proclaim the entire bible from start to finish verbally proclaiming his word over the land.
We believe God is going to give us in his timing this piece of land to build a House of prayer for all nations. Right now he is building the spiritual house with us the living stones in which he dwells.
In 2006 we will start our first English DTS here; this school will have more of a Cyprus feel and focus to it along with a strong focus on intimacy with God.
Our hearts desire is to see the life of this school as continuity of the journey God has us on, taking us as a community of lovers and seekers deeper into himself.
